Elaine Chelton is a versatile pianist who is at home with the classical repertory as she is with the American Song Book.  

She has worked with Susan Stroman, Lynne Taylor–Corbett, Alexi Ratmansky, Christopher Wheeldon & Justin Peck.  A solo pianist with New York City Ballet, she has played much of the company’s classic repertory and also premiered many new works.  She has performed with orchestras at Lincoln Center, Paris, Japan, Denmark & Hong Kong. 
Her repertory includes Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 2, Ravel Piano Concerto in G major, Shostakovich Piano Concerto No. 2 (Concerto DSCH)and Allegro Brillante, (the Tchaikovsky 3rd Piano Concerto). 
She has also performed the Ravel Sonatine & Sonatas & Interludes for prepared piano as well as Interplay, Who Cares and The Concert (music of Chopin).

Elaine is also a composer/lyricist. She was a member of the esteemed BMI advanced musical theatre workshop. “God’s Country” with book & lyrics by Erik Johnke received a full production at the New York Musical Theater Festival in 2013 and had a staged reading at the York Theater. 

“Voice of the City” with book & lyrics by Kenneth Jones received a workshop production at the Human Race Theatre in Dayton, Ohio and a reading at the York Theater. Her cabaret songs have been heard at Don’t Tell Mama’s, Judy’s, The Oak Room and The Comic Strip.

In addition she has recorded two CD’s of ballet music with Sandra Balestracci for Roper Records.  She is a recipient of an Anna Sosenko grant and member of BMI and the Dramatists Guild.
